| When was the last time you received a card or a
note in the mail? Do you remember how it made
you smile? Someone took the time to think of you, write a note to you, put a
stamp on it and mail it! Ok, when was the last time that YOU sent a
note. Just because you were thinking of someone? A show of support? You
wanted to share something fun? I'm guessing it been a very long time.
My New Year's resolution was to start sending
note cards to family,
friends, heck sometimes even strangers. I had no idea that something so
simple, could make such a huge impact. The response from the recipients of
the notes were amazing and heartwarming as well. I send notes to people who quit jobs, are sick, lonely, got a promotion,
had a bad week and so on. It takes so little time, but means so much to
others to be thought of.
Thank you notes are a lost art. Yes, you can call and say thank you or
send an email, but that's not as personal. Someone took the time to think of
you and purchase the time and get it to you. Its worth 5 minutes of your
time to respond.
Do I write a novel on these notes? Nope.
Usually just 3 or 4 lines. A note doesn't have to be long to have an impact.
I'm going to
share my source for note cards. When I started in January, all I could find were
the same note cards everyone else used. I like to be different. Stand out and so
on. . I found a gal who advertised a proof before you ordered your
cards. Since I have found her, I
have gone through about 4 different designs. Any suggestion I come up with,
she can custom make for me.
